At sixty-seven, I traveled to South Africa through an exchange program while pursuing my Master of Divinity degree. Fifteen other members of the Drew University Divinity Program made this journey.

Setting foot on African soil for the first time, I stepped onto the tarmac in Johannesburg. In that moment, I felt I had come full circle, completing a significant chapter in my life's journey.

Based in Pietermaritzburg, we held joint meetings with students and faculty from the Ujamaa Centre at UKZN Pietermaritzburg. We also visited the Nelson Mandela Capture Site near Howick. Venturing in the mountains, I found myself enveloped by nature's tranquility. As the day drew to a close, I marveled at the breathtaking beauty of the African sunset, its vibrant colors painting the sky and etching an indelible memory in my mind.
