Arriving in Johannesburg fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine, a moment that resonated deeply and profoundly within my soul, filling me with a powerful mix of anticipation and wonder that was almost overwhelming. The journey to Soweto revealed stark and striking contrasts between the Indigenous people who have called this land home for generations and the colonizers who once ruled over them with an iron fist, a reality that is both palpable and evident in the glaring housing disparities that are visible throughout the region. Johannesburg's towering high rises, symbols of wealth and progress, stood in sharp and unwavering contrast to the fragile tin roofs of nearby shanty towns, showcasing the profound exploitation and daily struggles of its most vulnerable inhabitants who endure hardships unimaginable to others. The image titled "Shanty Town" honors the oppressed and marginalized, serving not only as a poignant visual tribute to their resilience but also highlighting the deep inequalities that persist in our world today, ultimately inspiring meaningful and urgent reflection on the ongoing global injustices that we collectively face and must urgently address in our shared humanity.

How it's made
The image is first printed to a transfer paper, then infused into Chromaluxe metal by heat and pressure. This process combined with our custom made color profiles give true to life colors and exceptional detail. For metal prints, a white base coating ensures pure whites and true-to-life colors for vivid, accurate image reproduction on aluminum.

All metal prints are printed at actual size and then machine cut 1/8th
smaller on all sides. If you order a 24 x 36", your final print size will be 23.75 x
35.75". Any Metal Print which does not fit in a 20x26” box, will be shipped in a
custom made crate lined with foam.
