I traveled to South Africa for an enriching three-week Master of Divinity exchange program that allowed me to immerse myself in a unique cultural and spiritual experience. During my time there, I attended a fascinating Zulu Shembe Baptist service, where the congregation honors their beliefs with deep reverence. They observe the Sabbath on Saturday and adhere strictly to dietary laws, avoiding pork, smoking, and premarital sex. Elders passionately shared the Gospel with my driver, as directed by Matthew 29:19-20, exemplifying their commitment to spreading their faith. The attendees were barefooted as a sign of respect, women covered their heads, and we sat separately—men, women, and virgin girls—in their outdoor Holy Place, where traditions were honored. It was notable that only men took to the podium to speak during the service. This profound experience greatly influenced my artistic approach to Spreading The Gospel, inspiring me to explore new ways to communicate these powerful messages through my photography.
